Well, as you can see, my nephew is getting more handsome by the day. I know my sister is going to have problems with all the little girls when he gets older, lol!
Anyway...the reason for this post is just to let you know what I have discovered about myself over the last week. Really, there is only one thing...I have no problem with not having a baby anymore! Not that I wouldn't mind it, but at this point, I'd rather not!
I don't know what I thought it was like having a baby. Pregnancy, planning for the arrival, the arrival, and then rearing the child. This past week, I was able to experience most of this first hand, and if not experience it, I was able to see the results. And while I think it's a wonderful thing, I can't see where I would wear it well.
**Did you know that once you give birth to a child, it's yours forever and ever...AMEN?!?!?
**After giving birth, you have to take the baby home with you, but you can't take a nurse home also.
**My sister's feet retained A LOT of water.
**Even if you don't breast feed, you'll produce milk, and if you don't get rid of it, you'll be in a lot of pain.
**Newborns MUST be fed and changed EVERY 3 HOURS. Which means someone has to wake up to do this.
**The baby isn't supposed to be in public for 6 weeks. Which means, someone must stay at home, with the baby, for 6 weeks.
**I'm going to dispel a myth...Once the baby is born, it'll be a while before you are back to your normal body size. Your body is not a rubberband. (This may sound silly, but there are people who actually think that this is possible)
**The next 18 years of your life will revolve around this child, first!
Ok, some of my comments sound a little selfish, I know. Which is why I am comfortable saying that I am ok with being an Auntie, or even a step-mother...but right now, it is clear, BEING A MOTHER IS NOT AN OPTION FOR ME!
