Extreme Preparation?

When Y2K came about, everyone was so nervous. Everyone was out purchasing all kinds of disaster kits . I remember one of my friends called me and asked if I was prepared. Prepared for what? If the world was coming to an end, bottled water wasn’t going to help me. He bought a portable stove, water, canned food, candles, sleeping bags, lanterns, flashlights, and batteries. Basically, anything you could think of, he had. I wonder, since the world clearly hasn’t come to an end, as of yet, what did everyone do with all of their supplies?
