Racism in 2007?

It's hard to believe that this is 2007 and there are still hate crimes. A little over a week ago, I actually turned the television on, which I never do, and the news was on. I watched as a black man told the reporter how some sort of explosive was put into his mailbox. When he heard the explosion, he went outside and saw the mailbox blown to pieces in the middle of the street. As he stood there, he saw a car pull off quickly and heard all kinds of racial slurs.
Are you serious??? Are we still in that place??? Blowing up mailboxes ???As sad as it is, just because the year has changed, doesn't mean that the hatred in the hearts of people has.
