The 1City Youth Project

A few weeks ago, Friday, January 26, 2007, I was up late at night feeling very restless. Actually, it wasn't restless, it was more like a nagging feeling for me to do more. More of what? I didn't know, but I knew that my computer will always be my number one tool. I decided to look into doing volunteer work. I had no idea what was available, but there was only one way to find out. So, I sat up for a few hours looking at different posts, titles, and descriptions. Finally, I found one that was of intrest to me. The 1City Youth Project, in Brooklyn, was looking for a Modeling Coach. I figured, hey...what do I have to lose? I responded to the post. About an hour later, I received a reply. The coordinator, Dr. Williams, asked me when I could make it down to meet the girls. I told her the following day would be perfect. It seemed as if it were meant to be. I met the girls, there where only three at the time, and I loved them! I don't know what it was, but I assured them that we were going to have fun...and learn alot...this seemed to make them happy....but, I think it excited me more!!! I was looking forward to spending future Saturdays with them! So far, we've had two and a half days together...and the are coming along fabulously!!! We've got a talent show coming up in March, and a fashion show in June. I'll give you all of the details as time progresses. Also, each week, we do a mini photo shoot. I'll be posting those pics on my blog and on my myspace page, so take a look!!!

I would also like to add a side note...Although my blog for Intentional Living is not up to date, I have still been reading, and will be posting updates soon. I just want you to know what I found... I went to meet the girls @ 1City on Saturday, 1/27/2007, in my book this was Day 21...Using Your Talents. The Tip for that day was....You are the sole owner of your own set of talents and opprtunities. God has given you your own particular gifts - the rest is up to you.
