Shoe Obsession?

To what extent do you claim obsession vs. hobby or habit?

If you were a person that enjoyed reading, would having over one thousand books say that you were obsessed with books or reading? Or, would this be over looked because it was "reading" or as some would say...time well spent? Is reading still fundamental if it takes up all of your spare time?

Why is it that my enjoyment of purchasing, wearing, and having access to a large quantity of shoes said to be an obsession?
